Baptism

We love celebrating Believer's Baptism at The Brook. After all, there are very few things sweeter than seeing one of our kids or their family members let their church know of the inward change that has already taken place in their life. That is why every time a baptism takes place we bring all The Brook Kids over to the Worship Center to celebrate with the rest of their church family. We also hope that by being apart of this celebration sparks Gospel questions in your own child's life that you can discuss around the lunch table. Following the baptism, our awesome team will take your child back to their class.

If you believe your child is ready to be baptized at The Brook, our Family Pastor would love to talk with you and your child about this inward change in their life and about what baptism is and isn't. To set up that meeting, contact our Discipleship & Families  Pastor, Dusty Fowler.

Helpful Questions to Discern if Your Child Is Ready

Does your child understand the Gospel?

They don't have to articulate seminary level theology, but they do need to understand the basics. Who created them? Why did He create them? What is sin? What are the consequences for our sin? Why did Jesus have to come? How are we called to respond?

Does your child claim to follow Jesus?

Romans 10:9-10 tell us that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

Do you see evidence in your child's life that they have changed?

While they are not perfect, you should see an outward change in their life (2 Corinthians 5:17). We must elevate the fruit of our kid's life before baptism.
