You might be asking, "What makes The Brook different from other churches? What makes us distinct?" In addition to What We Believe, here are a few brief distinctives that set us apart from other churches:

We hold to INERRANCY.

Here at The Brook, we believe the Bible is 100% true in and with everything that it says. 

We preach EXPOSITORY sermons.

Our church does not teach topical sermons. Rather, we want to faithfully preach the text with biblical exposition. The way that we have found works best is to intentionally teach through books of the Bible and to let God's word speak for itself.

We value the ORDINANCES.

Scripture gives us two ordinances (baptism and the Lord's Supper), and we value both. We baptize believers by immersion whenever they are ready to take this important step of obedience, and we observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday to remember the sacrifice of Jesus.

We are a REFORMED Baptist Church.

We have a high view of God, and a low view of man. God is sovereign over all things, including salvation. People are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone, according to Scripture alone.

We hold to COMPLEMENTARIANISM.

Scripture teaches that men and women are equal in value but different in role, and that together they complement each other. In God's word, he has called men to lead the home and the church. Men should be the spiritual leaders in the home, and only men can be pastors and elders. 

We have a biblical view of MARRIAGE.

The Bible is clear; marriage is between one man and one woman. Under no circumstance will we ever affirm homosexuality, polygamy, or any other relationship that the Bible clearly prohibits.

We have a biblical view of SEX & GENDER.

There are only two sexes (male and female), and these were determined by God when he formed you in your mother's womb. We reject the idea that someone can choose their gender, because gender does not exist. We believe there are two sexes and zero genders.

We have a biblical view of LIFE.

Scripture is clear that God is the one who creates life, and he does so in the mother's womb. Life begins at conception. As a result, we wholeheartedly oppose abortion and stand for life.
