BUILDING HOMES...CHANGING LIVES!
San Raymundo, Guatemala
June 12-18, 2022
We are incredibly excited to be headed back to Guatemala this summer to work with Casas por Cristo! As Pastor Brian announced on Sunday, we need to raise $10,000 to build a home in San Raymundo. Please prayerfully consider giving (above and beyond your tithes and offerings) to be part of changing the life of a family in need. To give, simply go HERE.
If you are considering going and being a part of this life-changing experience, here is everything you need to know about the trip:
When will we be going?
Leaving immediately after the 9:00 service on Sunday, June 12. Arriving in Guatemala on Sunday night and returning to Huntsville on Saturday, June 18.
What will we be doing?
Our main mission is to build a home (from foundation to roof) for a family in need. Casas por Cristo has been building in Mexico and Central America for over 20 years now. This is hard, physical labor. So keep that in mind. We will also be investing in the community of San Raymundo, sharing the hope of the gospel.
Who can go on the trip?
The trip is open to our youth, college students, and adults. There are special exceptions for children (10+) going with their parents. While age is a factor, physical stamina is also important. Anyone going is required to have a US Passport and will be required to get a Hepatitis-A & Tetanus vaccination. To view COVID-related entry requirements, visit the Casas por Cristo country status webpage.
How can I sign up?
To register, please fill out the Registration Form. Registration is due by Sunday, May 8, with a $100 deposit. There will be an information meeting sometime in the middle of May. An additional medical form and Casas por Cristo liability form will be filled out then. You will be provided with our tentative itinerary, packing list, and helpful information about the area of Guatemala where we will be traveling.
How much does the trip cost?
The Casas por Cristo registration fee is $227, which includes lodging, transportation, and meals in Guatemala. Currently, airfare is just under $1000. There will also be travel meals to pay for and any souvenirs you want to purchase on our day-trip to Antigua. So, the trip will most likely be $1400 or less. (PLEASE NOTE: This is contingent on airfare prices.)
We are incredibly grateful to be headed back to Guatemala, to work with Casas por Cristo, and to take the love of Christ and the hope of the Kingdom of God to a people in need. Please ask the Lord how He desires for you to join us in giving, serving, and possibly going.
